The Project
Girls’ LEAP, a Boston nonprofit focused on safety, confidence, and leadership for girls and gender-expansive youth, needed a fresh brand identity for their 2023 annual gala. The event brings together donors, supporters, and community partners—so the visual experience had to feel polished, unified, and deeply rooted in their mission.
I served as Creative Consultant, leading the full creative development for the event. This included gala branding, event collateral, signage, social media assets, email graphics, and updates to their WordPress site.
The Challenge
The organization needed an event identity that felt elevated enough for a gala but still emotionally connected to their core work: empowering young people to lead with courage and resilience.
Key challenges included:
• Developing a cohesive visual brand that could extend across print, digital, and environmental design.
• Creating signage and on-site elements that transformed the venue and guided guest experience.
• Ensuring every touchpoint—from invitations to social posts to the landing page—felt consistent and clear for supporters.
• Designing quickly and collaboratively while supporting a small nonprofit team with limited internal design resources.
The Outcome
The final brand system strengthened Girls’ LEAP’s storytelling and created a seamless event experience.
Highlights included:
A complete event identity with a refined color palette, typography system, and graphic motifs that connected back to Girls’ LEAP’s mission.
Website and email updates that improved event visibility and made registration and donation processes easier.
Social media visuals that drove engagement and built excitement leading up to the event.
Event-day signage and environmental design (wayfinding, stage visuals, check-in collateral) that elevated the atmosphere and supported guest flow.
Print materials such as programs, donor cards, and sponsor recognition tied the evening together.
The result was a polished, mission-aligned event presence that helped Girls’ LEAP strengthen donor connections and celebrate the young people they serve—all through a cohesive, intentional visual experience.
